Hi,
installing auctex version 11.81 produce a small problem when
opening a tex-file:
Loading tex...
File mode specification error: (void-variable AUCTeX-version)
I am using Emacs 22.0.50.4; could the emacs version be a
problem or did I missed anything in the installation
procedure?

Hi,
it seems that there was a problem in combination the
template package and an old 'tex.el' one... it works now.
