Installing psgml

Installing psgml

Hi,

I'm a GNU emacs newcomer but want to install psgml. I'm on XP and don't  
have a .emacs file yet. Should I install using 'customize'as suggested in  
the GNU FAQ? If not, where do you set up the .emacs initially?

Your .emacs is where `user-init-file' point to.

So type `C-h v user-init-file <RET>' and find out.

If %HOME% is undefined, .emacs will need to be at C:\. As I use
Cygwin, I usually set %HOME% to C:\cygwin\home\<my user name> so
.emacs is searched for there. This makes the experience as closest to
working in a UNIX environment as posible.
