Hello everyone,
When I am under xemacs, I am unable to control the line number . I have to
do View -> Goto Line or M-g to see the line number.
Also under xemacs, when I write a programme in C or Java, I can't check the
braces ({, }). I have no problem about this in Emacs.
Could you help me to configure this?
Thank you very much.
Ha

So you have no problem with GNU Emacs. This mailing list is for GNU
Emacs. I think there is a separate mailing list for XEmacs. You
probably should check out their web-site. I am stating this thinking
that it would be useful for you.
But I think what you want is some basic stuff, and hence would be the
same b/w GNU Emacs and XEmacs. Doesn't C-M-f and C-M-b work in XEmacs
for checking the balance of the braces?

Hi Anna,
No, it doesn't work. When I do C-M-f, the cursor jumps some lines forward
but does not check the balances of the braces.
In fact, in Emacs, it's automatic. I don't even know how it is confirgured
to check this. For example, when I type:
public static void main (String[] args) {
}
When I click on the second brace, both this one and the first are
hightlighed.
Cheers,
Ha
