Hi,

termhooks.h contains:

enum event_kind
{
...
  timer_event,                  /* A timer fired.  */
...
};

Do we use this event type? I can not find anything.

ISTR that we were thinking about changing in the way timers are
handled: a signal would put such an event in the queue, and it would
be handled by the code that reads events.

This could result in a great simplification of the timer code.
