Subject: dired-mode works lacks support of common tasks
Date: 08 Oct 2003 17:49:15 +0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <m3he2j1uxw.fsf@localhost.localdomain> (raw)

It seems there is no simple way to copy or delete (recursively) a
directory in dired mode. Is it intentional for some reason? I doubt
it is in any way difficult to implement.

What i think would be logical is when i hit C on a directory, Emacs
automatically determines that it needs to do a recursive copy and
doesn't even bother asking me anything. And the same for d, x (maybe
with a more impressive confirmation prompt, since recursive deletion
of a directory is not something one would like to do accidentially).
