Subject: bug#4321: 23.1; bell is not terminal specific
Date: Wed, 02 Sep 2009 13:12:35 -0600	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <m3eiqpma8s.fsf@fleche.redhat.com> (raw)

Please write in English if possible, because the Emacs maintainers
usually do not have translators to read other languages for them.

Your bug report will be posted to the bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org mailing list,
and to the gnu.emacs.bug news group.

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

I use ssh + emacsclient -t on my laptop to let me use my primary emacs
from another room.

I typed C-g here, and was surprised to hear a noise coming from the
other room.

I think that maybe visible-bell and ring-bell-function should be
terminal-local.

If Emacs crashed, and you have the Emacs process in the gdb debugger,
please include the output from the following gdb commands:
    `bt full' and `xbacktrace'.
If you would like to further debug the crash, please read the file
/usr/share/emacs/23.1/etc/DEBUG for instructions.
