When > did you last try that, and how did you invoke Emacs when you did? emacs.exe run directly from the graphical interface will open a console window on MS Windows. runemacs.exe exists solely to get around this limitation (these days; it used to perform more environment initialisation, but that got moved into emacs.exe quite some time ago). -- Jason Rumney
