Perhaps someone ought to take out an ad for Emacs when people search for "Eclipse." At least a partial explanation about why emacs is slipping so far behind vi?? Is it less popular than vi? That's hard to believe. I have never been able to totally shake the feeling that vi really originated as a practical joke.
