Yes but of course. Or do it in the Makefile. However, instead of
this one night stand approach, how about long term commitment: I'm
saying that emacs has a set way of reporting one aspect of compilation
times, reporting the time when it finished. I'm saying emacs should
provide at least the flexibility to also 1. report the time before we start.
2. not report the time after we end. As who says the former is less
important than the latter time...
And while we're at it, also maybe 3. report the times in between.
I mean who says everybody must have chocolate pudding [final
timestamp] for dessert? Can one not have dessert, or have an
appetizer?
