Perhaps a better syntax would be:
(async-start-process '("ls" "-la")
(lambda (proc)
(message (with-current-buffer (process-buffer proc)
(buffer-string)))))
It doesn't follow `start-process', the way that I was doing, but it mirrors
`async-start' much better.
