I was wondering why there was no output from
(dired-do-shell-command "sed 's/.*\\([a-z][a-z]+\\).*/\\1/'" nil (quote ("exercises7.in")))
when I suddenly realized "of course, those *'s, and there's no way of
escaping them. Wonder who invented that?"
