bug#7314: 23.2; "require" docs don't account for "get-load-suffixes"

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug.  If you can, give
a recipe starting from `emacs -Q':

The docs for "require" only list .el and .elc as possible extensions;
.el.gz works on my system.

If Emacs crashed, and you have the Emacs process in the gdb debugger,
please include the output from the following gdb commands:
    `bt full' and `xbacktrace'.
