"?" in Query replace gives:
E to edit the replacement string
OK, but I don't like about how it flies off right away to the next
spot or file [dired-do-query-replace-regexp] without giving you the
option to see how it did its job.
I bet Stallman was doing all his replacing on the same screen so he
didn't notice this disturbing situation while developing the code.
Perhaps you need to add an F to First get a look before flying off or
something.
