See the variable sentence-end-double-space and other variables
referenced from there.

Hi, all:
I'm using Emacs 21.1 to edit html file in Mandrake Linux 8.2 .
When I use "M-e", the cursor ought to go to the point of the next ".",
but it always goes to the end of the paragragh.
Although When I read the tutorial("C-h t"), the "M-e" key goes well.
Thank you.

Do you use the same "." character in English and Chinese sentences?
I vaguely recall that there is a special Chinese period character.
If you look at the variable sentence-end, then you'll see that only
the Ascii period is included.

I have had much greater success doing East Asian languages in Emacs by using
the TEI-Emacs package. You might want to give it a try.

Thank you for your hint.
Now the English sentences have been "improved".
But the Chinese sentences stay the same, although I have set it as the
style.

What's that TEI-Emacs package ?
Could we make sure that those people's enhancements (and problems, ...)
get propagated to emacs-devel@gnu.org or somesuch so that we can
improve the default behavior of Emacs (and so as to reduce the amount
of code they have to maintain) ?

Basically psgml plus customizations. Thus we must make sure to add
psgml first...

Oh, it's more than 18M, and it will cost me about 2 hour to download
it with my poor Modem.
Any other solution?
