So I guess I'll keep at least the option of re-parenting child frames to another root frame open, until I know more about how fast that all turns out to be. If I had to guess, face realization on ttys could well be faster than on GUIs because all the font stuff doesn't have to be done. But I'll disable to root <-> child transformation. That feels abit esoteric. Thanks!
