GNU Emacs 23.0.60.23 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.12.5)
started with
src/emacs -q -nbc
and
src/emacs -q -nbc -nw
`--no-blinking-cursor' in RXVT fails, that is to say, I cannot move point.
With a blinking cursor
src/emacs -q
succeeds.
See (info "(emacs)Misc X") for `-nbc'
