Subject: gtk: no flicker
Date: Tue, 18 Mar 2003 14:18:18 +0000 (UTC)	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <m18vHv0-000IeGC@rattlesnake.com> (raw)

No flicker with gtk GNU Emacs using either the Aqua2 or Crux themes

    GNOME 1.4

    Today's Debian testing, Tue Mar 18 14:14:00 UTC 2003

    Today's GNU Emacs CVS snapshot, Tue, 2003 Mar 18 13:24 UTC
    GNU Emacs 21.3.50.222 (i686-pc-linux-gnu)
    built like this:

    [as non-privileged user]

      (progn
        (cd "/usr/local/src/emacs/")
        (compile
         "gcc=gcc-3.2 ./configure --with-type1 \
          --with-x-toolkit=gtk \
          --prefix=/usr/local --with-sound=yes \
           && gcc=gcc-3.2 time make bootstrap"))

    [as `root']
      (progn (cd "/usr/local/src/emacs/")
             (compile "CC=gcc-3.2 time make install"))

        (Incidentally, this is the first time I could build and
        install gtk Emacs with Debian testing. Sometime in the past
        week or two, Debian updated various libraries and such.
        Earlier, I lacked:
             gtk+-2.0 >= 2.0.1 glib-2.0 >= 2.0.1
        )

    started with

         /usr/local/bin/emacs -q --no-site-file --eval '(blink-cursor-mode 0)'
