ucs-tables.el stops bootstrapping

Today's GNU Emacs 21.3 CVS snapshot, Tue, 2002 Dec  9 15:22 UTC
fails to bootstrap with the command:

     (progn

The *compilation* buffer says

I looked into ucs-tables.el but could not figure out how to make
changes that enabled me to bootstrap without error.

In particular, I am stumped by the expression that starts

    (let ((ucs-8859-2-alist

and which contains 4 other `let' expressions and a `let*' expression.

I tried doing a bootstrap build both using GCC 3.2 and GCC 2.95.

Unfortunately, it is not.  However, for the CVS snapshot of 
Tue, 2002 Dec 9 17:37 UTC there is a new error message:

I had the same problem, so I rm -rf'd emacs and did a fresh checkout
after receiving Andreas' email.  Update finished at 11:01am (17:01GMT)
but 'make bootstrap' still fails the same way:

Success!  The latest 
CVS snapshot of Tue, 2002 Dec  9 21:06 UTC
builds and installs without reported error.

A short test suggests that it runs OK, too.
The new file that made the difference was

    lisp/international/code-pages.el

with this change;

    revision 1.9
    date: 2002/12/09 20:11:13;  author: fx;  state: Exp;  lines: +34 -10
    (mik, pt154): New coding systems.
