Yes, but those are optional (aren't they?).

IIUC:
checkout == bound branch == heavyweight checkout
checkout != lightweight checkout.
I did check before starting this that a lightweight checkout says
"light checkout" in bzr info.
bzr help checkouts:
[...]
However the checkout is still a first class branch in Bazaar terms,
so that you have the full history locally.
[...]
It is also possible to create a "lightweight" checkout by passing the
--lightweight flag to checkout.
