It seems to work on the example of bug#11883 (it doesn't solve
bug#11883, mind you, just brings it back to the less broken state that
it was in when the bug was reported).

At least for the example code of bug#11883 it fixes a regression w.r.t
Emacs-24.1. Please install it.
