Yes, all that history has been painstakingly preserved (by ESR, if I remember properly) when we converted to Git. The imperfections in the Git history are mostly carried over from the imperfection of the data in the CVS repository. > So it is a good thing that we have the change log files from that era, > in the Git repo.
