The max-buffer-size on 32bit machines was increased yesterday in Emacs-CVS from 128M to 256M. There might be other limitations (some of them within Emacs) that can still prevent you from opening a 200M file, tho. I have an additional patch that pushes the limit to 512M, but it hasn't been accepted/installed yet. Stefan
