I don't have a strong opinion on this, but it sounds like
a welcome addition. Since we're in feature freeze (I know we weren't
when you sent your message, sorry about that), we'll have to wait until
Emacs-23 is released before including it (i.e. it could be included in
Emacs-23.2).
