Your bug report will be posted to the emacs-pretest-bug@gnu.org mailing list. Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug and the precise symptoms of the bug: emacs -Q crashes on startup with this message: X protocol error: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) on protocol request 91 If emacs is invoked with -q --no-site-file --no-splash it starts okay. This is very odd, as -Q is documented as the equivalent of those options. This is very odd, as -Q is documented as the equivalent > of those options. In fact, now -Q is equivalent to -q --no-site-file --no-splash, plus ignoring X resources. From etc/NEWS: * Startup Changes in Emacs 23.2 ** Command-line option -Q (--quick) now also disables loading X resources. Note however that this does not affect Lucid or Motif widgets, if you are using those toolkits. On Windows, this option causes Emacs to ignore Registry settings, though environment variables set on the Registry are still honored. This is likely related to your problem.
