Empty parts ignore background color

Bug already reported at

occurs with default configuration too.

Emacs -Q

displays  it shadowed.

I don't know what this is supposed to add to the previous thread.
As it says there, this is a documented (in etc/PROBLEMS) issue with
gtk-qt-engine. I have no idea what you mean by "default
configuration", so I can't tell if you're saying anything new.

Running Suse 10.0, my gtk probably is quite ancient and
I never remarked any difficulty from it.

2007-06-07

doesn't have this bug.

Recent build has. (Did ./configure without options)

The screenshot shows the gtk-engines-qt bug listed in ets/PROBLEMS.  So
update this theming engine to 0.7 or deinstall it and you'll be fine.

Because Xaw3d doesn't use gtk themes.

Configure without options builds with gtk widgets now.

Are you using KDE, esp. gtk-engines-qt?  In that case, what version of
gtk-engines-qt?  Version prior to 0.7 has this bug.
