In 2017 the solution to the Xywrite 32 and 64 bit Windows problems is to use the text-based version of Vdos, VdosPlus.
At VdosPlus.org you can find all you want for long file names etc. with Xywrite, WordPerfect 5, and Wordstar under all Windows from Vista to 10.
