Indeed.  It's not clear to me why we are having this discussion.  With 
fbterm, the Linux console is on the par with most terminal emulators. 
FTR, here are two screenshots of Emacs' HELLO file, one with Emacs running 
in a raw console, and one with Emacs running inside fbterm.

Eli, is the attached patch okay?  Or is there a better place for that 
information (efaq.texi, perhaps?)?
