Display problems in modeline (M$-WXP)

Hello,
 I am using GNU Emacs on M$-WXP built with MinGW GCC 4.3. When I open
the info page (C-h i) and scroll up and down a couple of times. The
underlines in the links spill over to modeline. If I have a bolder
font (with heavier look), the spill over becomes more visible. I had
not noticed this earlier, so I presume it is some recent change. The
attached image shows the problem.

This happens only with the MinGW GCC build and not the MSVC build, I
just confirmed that.
