in this version of emacs when i run cvs-status it does not ask me for
the directory if the current buffer is already a *cvs* one, it reuses
that directory. before the unicode stuff was merged into the main
trunk i was already trying emacs 23 (for xft's sake) and cvs-status
was working as expected: always ask for directory).

is somebody experiencing the same problem? did i miss some
customization?

thanks,
 Rodrigo

It's this change

http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-devel/2007-08/msg01017.html

(I liked the old behavior better.)

Hi Johan,

i have not verified when is that the change was introduced as to be
sure that my previous 23.0.x installation effectively did not have
this change. but indeed, cvs-query-directory as it is now works as
reported. the behavior was changed from good to bad!

many thanks for the pointer to that discussion in emacs-devel. from
there i went to my local pcvs.el and 'fixed' the problem by myself
(they should have provided a customization option.)

Rodrigo

Johan, Rodrigo: This change has been discussed on the development
