Subject: how to do reverse lookup in function-key-map?
Date: Fri, 12 Aug 2005 16:52:43 -0600 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <ddj981$sie$1@sea.gmane.org> (raw)
How can I find out what escape sequence is bound to a function key?
For example, xterm.el binds `ESC [ A' to <up>, and while running
`emacs -nw -q --no-site-file`:
(lookup-key function-key-map "\e[A") ==> [up]
(lookup-key function-key-map "\eOA") ==> [up]
But the inverse lookup doesn't work:
(where-is-internal 'up function-key-map) => nil
(where-is-internal [up] function-key-map) => nil
And `<up> C-h l' shows: ESC O A
