Hi Tassilo,

Thanks for your reply.

M-x save-buffer gives me the same error message:

basic-save-buffer-2: Opening output file: no such file or directory,
<file path>

It seems that "save-buffer" is just an alias for "basic-save-buffer";
the *Messages* buffer shows the same message for both of them.
