I feel pretty sure that when it _does_ noticed (and it will), it will be
_extremely_ confusing.  Invisible side-effects like isearch setting the
mark are already hard enough to grok without adding special cases like
that (unless there's a very strong advantage to having the incosistency,
and I don't think that's true here).
