* How make vc (CVS) commands save file automatically so they don't ask all the time?

Many of the version control (CVS) commands in Emacs ask you to save
your file first..... e.g. if you checkin a file you must save it first...

Is there a way to invoke these CVS commands and get a save done
behind the scenes automatically by default?
