Hi,
I have some problem with this function. I add this line in my .emacs file:
(set-message-beep 'silent)
But when Emacs starts says: "Symbol's function definition is void:
set-message-beep".
How could I fix it?

I think set-message-beep is only available on Windows. Try
(setq visible-bell t)
