I can check that in about four weeks, cause i am not in the company
now and have no access to Windows at home. Will post the answer then!

A co-worker tested it for me, both return nil for e.g.

(file-exists-p  "//cli3/laser7")
(file-regular-p "//cli3/laser7")

That's one of our network printers.
