Zile Is Lossy Emacs. Zile is a lightweight, portable Emacs clone. Its only purpose is to stand in for Emacs when for one reason or another Emacs won't do: for example, it won't install on a given platform, or takes too much memory or disk space, or starts up too slowly. Ideally, Zile wouldn't exist. But while it does, it would be nice if it could be mentioned in Emacs's documentation, as many Emacs users have found it useful over the years (including myself, which is why I started to use Zile) and many more may yet do so. -- http://rrt.sc3d.org/ | wit, n. educated insolence (Aristotle) ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 5+ messages in thread

Indeed, zile seems to be even smaller than "nano"... (nano is the default debian "tiny editor"; though it features emacs keybindings for some things, it isn't really very emacs-like...) -Miles -- (\(\ (^.^) (")") *This is the cute bunny virus, please copy this into your sig so it can spread. ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 5+ messages in thread
