Which would > have a glyph for it. AFAIU, coding category is not used for font selection, it is used to narrow= down appropriate coding systems when a buffer has the coding system "undec= ided". Since this character is covered by the JISX-0208 standard, it gets = the Japanese tag (along with most ASCII characters and many more that you m= ight not consider Japanese).
