OK, to get the ball rolling, here is a fully functional minor mode which could easily fit into windmove.el. It is just lacking a doc string and a buffer local version, if the latter makes any sense, here. (define-minor-mode windmove-c-x-4 "Doc string." :lighter nil (windmove-install-defaults '(?\C-x ?4) nil '((windmove-left left) (windmove-right right) (windmove-up up) (windmove-down down)) (null windmove-c-x-4))) -- Alan Mackenzie (Nuremberg, Germany).
