But You are right, at some point that C code started to spill over with CONS and CAR macros, so I gave up. Which was a mistake at that time, but I corrected that interim, in a different fashion. ! At any rate, if there is indeed a bug, please report it to the bug ! tracker bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org. I do not know if there is a bug. What I think is that I have a fix now. I was going to roll that out and see what might happen, at that point the telco cut my line and all fell apart - so now I'm running on the contingency plan (and have some other problems to deal with).
