I try to edit or enter the following in Dired:
c:\temp\~DF7FB1.tmp
c:\temp\~cbu_tmp\
But I just end up in my %HOME% directory. I've been able to turn off
tilde electrification, but cannot figure out how to get Emacs to stop
internally expanding the tilde (~) character.
Google Groups archives numerous questions regarding this matter but no
solutions, from what I could find, have been given.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Bob

[I wrote regarding editing files and paths with tildes in them]
It seems this issue has been addressed in newer versions. (I was using a
version that was nearly four years old(!)...gotta update more often.)
Ciao,
Bob
