Most users think "occur", not "list-matching-lines" for `occur'.
Similarly, when they look for occur options. Emacs help (apropos etc.)
currently doesn't help them find the options.
Please provide variable aliases for all of the options named
`list-matching-lines-*'. And maybe even consider doing it the other way
around instead, that is, the same direction as for the command: alias
the `list-matching-lines-*' option names to the (new) `occur-*' option
names.
In GNU Emacs 26.3 (build 1, x86_64-w64-mingw32)

I think the naming is fine as is, so I'm closing this bug report.

I agree with Drew -- `occur' is the primary name and almost certainly
the most familiar one for most users. Everything to do with `occur'
should at minimum be searchable by that name.
