Lexmark Announces Third Quarter
Results |
|
|
Lexmark International, Inc. announced financial results for its third quarter
ended Sept. 30, 2004. Third quarter revenue was $1.266 billion, an increase of 9
percent compared to $1.157 billion last year. Diluted net earnings per share for
the quarter were $1.17 and include a non-recurring benefit of 15 cents per share
from the resolution of income tax matters. Without this tax benefit, earnings
per share would have been $1.02, an increase of 29 percent compared to a year
ago.

Toshiba Business Solutions Acquires Portion of Northern Business Systems |

Toshiba Business Solutions (TBS) announced it has acquired the Rochester and
Syracuse, N.Y. offices of Northern Business Systems, a leading independent
dealer of Toshiba office equipment in western and central New York and New
Jersey. Northern Business Systems’ Rochester & Syracuse offices will be merged
with Business Methods, a previously acquired TBS Subsidiary headquartered in
Rochester, N.Y.
The newly combined company will be led by Steven Sauer, president of Business
Methods.

Dell Plans to Open Printer Distribution Center |
|

Dell Inc. plans to open a distribution center in West Chester, Ohio to support its national printer and accessories business. The center is scheduled to open in November and will employ about 250 people within its first year of operation. It will be managed and operated by Dell and Oakland, Calif.-based APL Logistics Ltd.

Purdue Researchers Trace Documents by Fingerprinting Printers |

Purdue University researchers have developed a system allowing investigators
to trace an individual computer printer's unique "fingerprints." The technique
is geared to helping law enforcement agencies looking into counterfeiting,
forgeries and homeland security matters, but as yet only works for laser
printers.
