Yes, you can: C-x C-f. When you write "menu bar items", do you mean the menus in the =EF=A3=BF = menu bar? Or do you mean the GNU Emacs tool-bar, which is part of the = GNU Emacs frame? Well, both can be toggled on or off via the Options menu=E2=80=A6 but = you can also invoke: M-x toggle-menu-bar-mode-from-frame RET (I can't switch it off, it is constantly on in the =EF=A3=BF menu bar.) If you mean the tool-bar, that with images, which stays with the frame, = then you can use the oval button in the upper right corner of the frame. = Or the Options menu in the =EF=A3=BF menu bar, Show/Hide. Have you quit (C-x C-c or M-x save-buffers-kill-terminal RET) and = relaunched GNU Emacs? -- Greetings Pete <\ \__ O __O | O\ _\\/\-% _`\<, '()-'-(_)--(_) (_)/(_)
