It looks as if the code for Tibetan greetings is incorrect. A few =20 Emacsen of different versions can display the text, either in a =20 windowing system or in a terminal emulation. And *all* cannot display =20= it correctly. I am trying to copy first what is displayed in a =20 terminal (example + second time): =E0=BD=96=E0=BD=80=E0=BE=B2?=E0=BC=8B=E0=BD=A4=E0=BD=B2=E0=BD=A6=E0= =BC=8B=E0=BD=96=E0=BD=91=E0=BD=BA=E0=BC=8B=E0=BD=A3=E0=BD=BA=E0=BD=82=E0=BD= =A6=E0=BC=8E Tibetan (=E0=BD=96=E0=BD=BC=E0=BD=91=E0=BC=8B=E0=BD=A6=E0=BE=90?=E0= =BD=91=E0=BC=8B) =E0=BD=96=E0=BD=80=E0=BE=B2?=E0=BC=8B=20 =E0=BD=A4=E0=BD=B2=E0=BD=A6=E0=BC=8B=E0=BD=96=E0=BD=91=E0=BD=BA=E0=BC=8B=E0= =BD=A3=E0=BD=BA=E0=BD=82=E0=BD=A6=E0=BC=8E The forth character from the left obviously is not right (and also in =20= the comment the last but one). Something similiar I can see in =20 windowing Emacsen, although they display instead of a question mark a =20= generic symbol 'last resort'. There seems to be also a problem with Arabic: Arabic (=D8=A9=D9=91=D9=8A=D8=A8=D8=B1=D8=B9=D9=84=D8=A7) = =D9=85=D9=83=D9=8A=D9=84=D8=B9 =D9=85=D8=A7=D9=84=D9=91=D8=B3=D9=84= =D8=A7 Interestingly the parentheses in the right column is here in the copy =20= an opening one in a Latin script. In terminal in GNU Emacs it's a =20 closing one in a Latin script, and it obviously belongs to the left =20 column. A similiar effect happens with Hebrew with the ``)=C2=B4=C2=B4 =20= parentheses. In the "foreword" of non-ASCII examples the right-most text in the =20 Middle/Near East line consists only of question marks ... -- Greetings Pete I wouldn't recommend sex, drugs or insanity for everyone, but they've =20= always worked for me. =E2=80=93 Hunter S.
