But in a similar vein, removing the delay completely is a bigger regression... Hello folks! > From: Tino Calancha > Date: Thu, 7 Dec 2023 11:02:24 +0100 > > Dear Emacs maintainers, > > I am writing to express my concern about a recent change in the > behavior of the jump-to-register and point-to-register commands in the > master branch (Bug#66394). Please consider reinstating 'register-preview-delay'. Set the value to no delay by default, if needed. The optional delay was a nice feature because you could insert the same or a familiar register without having to see the preview each time. All while retaining the preview buffer if needed. The 'register-use-preview' option does not seem to cover this use-case anymore. We have the choice between an eager preview (in two varieties) or none at all. If this has already been covered, please ignore my message. I will find the thread. All the best, Protesilaos (or simply "Prot") -- Protesilaos Stavrou https://protesilaos.com
