In my build of the current cvs head, firing up the uninstalled image
with "src/emacs -Q" and then
M-: (latin1-display)
gives an error
Debugger entered--Lisp error: (error "Invalid code(s)")
make-char(arabic-iso8859-6 127)
latin1-display-reset(arabic)
mapc(latin1-display-reset (latin-2 latin-3 latin-4 latin-5 latin-8 latin-9 arabic cyrillic greek hebrew))
latin1-display()
eval((latin1-display))
eval-expression((latin1-display) nil)
call-interactively(eval-expression nil nil)
This happens both on a text-mode console tty, or under X.
In GNU Emacs 23.0.60.4 (i586-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.12.1)
of 2008-04-03 on blah.blah
configured using `configure 'CFLAGS=-O' '--prefix=/down/emacs/b/inst' '--with-x-toolkit=gtk''
