* emacs-unicode-2: void-variable not defined ?

Hi,

i tried to compile the latest CVS emacs-unicode-2 branch (23.0.60).  
I configured it with these options:

  $ ./configure --with-gtk --enable-font-backend --with-xft

No problem with make bootstrap && make install.  But when using the
Emacs instance, it complains about void-variable not being defined.

Hint?
