[If these really are unrelated to main purpose, why are they part of the same package?] That is a very important point. It is quite common that a user implements, in a single Lisp program, various features which he likes but which do not really belong together. In such a case, to "install the package" is not really the right thing to consider. What we should do instead is consider each of the features separately, and decide what to do with it.
