That is the motive for jit-font-lock, but stealth fontification
fontifies _other_ buffers.
The reason is still to avoid the need to fontify
when you move to a part of one of those other buffers
that hadn't been displayed in this session.
The question is, is the time saved by that enough to be worth caring
about?
