    There are two defcustoms for ftp program

       ange-ftp:   ange-ftp-ftp-program
       net-utils:    ftp-programs

    Is not that a potential problem source? 

Not really.  Some users might want to set them both,
and maybe we could get by with just one of the two.
On the other hand, maybe some users have a reason to set one
and not the other.  Let's leave well enough alone.
